Checking into Abilena on Wednesday allows two full days to decorate and set up for the wedding. During that time, the pool, hot tub, kayaks, and game room will keep everyone entertained! The Bride and Groom each get their own room on the 2nd floor to get ready. There is a private room just for the wedding dress! Salon with two chairs for hair and Make-up. Wedding and Reception on the grounds or in the Carriage House. With this package your wedding party can stay in the mansion just like a vacation home! Abilena sleeps up to 14 people!!

Concrete steps and 6' wide, 36' long aisle and a wide platform with room for the Bride, Groom, Minister, and Wedding Party. While the average Wedding will be between 50-200 people, there is room for up to 350 chairs on the grass for the guests!!

"The Riverview Terrace" Seats up to 120 for ceremonies overlooking the river!

The Terrace allows Weddings, Receptions, or Events to take place beside the pool and overlooking the majestic Neuse River!! This area can be seat up to 120 people for Ceremonies. This space can also hold a tent of up to 20x40 if needed. Perfect for Rehearsal Dinners, cocktail hour, dancing, etc.
"The Formal Room" and first floor of Abilena. Perfect for Rehearsal Dinners, Weddings, Receptions. Location #3
#3 The formal living room and the adjoining rooms in the mansion can have intimate indoor weddings of up to 30-35 people. This room is also used for part of the indoor receptions. The mansion can be used for indoor receptions of 60 people seated and can hold up to 100 people standing for informal events.

The Carriage House 40' x 40' Outdoor Riverfront Ballroom with a 20x40 enclosed room for bar, food setup, and wedding cake. $3500 option when it was rented alone, now included free in all Abilena weddings! We built this building because nobody should attempt to have a Wedding or Reception in a TENT!! The Carriage House is included in all Abilena Weddings and may not be rented separately from the mansion. The Carriage House is our riverfront Pavilion that can be used for rehearsal dinners, receptions, dancing, or even ceremonies in case of rain. Other venues require you to rent a tent or only have a tent for your reception!! The Carriage House can hold up to 250 people standing and up to 150 people seated. It is the perfect riverfront reception site. Dancing into the night by the waters edge...
The kitchen is very modern and can be used by the guests.
Ask about the 8 passenger Limo Golf Cart and driver!!! Frequently asked questions "Can we bring our own beer, wine, and alcohol?" Yes. You do not need any permits as long as there is a bartender serving the alcohol. Your caterer may provide the bartender or you may hire one. We have a list of bartenders you can hire. ___________________________________________________________________ "How many people can sleep at Abilena?" There are 7 queen beds and two futons for a total of 16 people. _________________________________________________________________ "Can we use the pool and hot tub?" Yes, the pool is warm by April and stays nice until October. The hot tub stays warm all year! ___________________________________________________________________
"Can I bring my own caterer?" Yes. We offer a list below of preferred caterers but you may bring your own or prepare the food here yourself. ___________________________________________________________________
"Can we bring a boat?" Yes. The river here is great for boating and a flat bottomed skiff or pontoon boat will come right up to our beach. A sailboat or deep v hull boat would need to be anchored out and you can use our kayaks to row back and forth. ____________________________________________________________________
"Are there hotels close by?" Yes. There are plenty of local hotels close to Abilena. The Hilton, Best Western, Bridgepoint, and Comfort suites are all within 5 miles. Springhill Suites Marriott also provides a shuttle service to and from Abilena free with 10 rooms or more! ____________________________________________________________
"Does New Bern have an airport?" Yes. Abilena is only 2 miles from Craven Regional airport. Delta and US Air fly into New Bern. ______________________________________________________________
"Are sheets and towels provided?" Yes. The beds are made when you arrive. There are plenty of towels for the house, you should bring beach towels for the pool and river activities. _______________________________________________________________
"How do payments and deposits work?" The deposit for any booking is $2000. The balance is set up in a payment plan that works with each couples budget so that everything is paid before the wedding date. ______________________________________________________________________________________________
