Ingredients:

For the caramel sauce:

  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons (90 ml) unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

For the banana layer:

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent browning)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional, for caramelizing bananas)

For the creamy layer:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240 g) cream cheese, softened

For assembly:

  • 1 cup (100 g) graham cracker or biscuit crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional toppings: shaved chocolate, crushed nuts, or caramel drizzle

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the caramel sauce

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly with a heatproof spatula or wooden spoon. The sugar will clump and then melt into a smooth amber-colored liquid.
  2. Once melted, add the butter. Be cautious, as the mixture will bubble vigorously. Stir until fully combined.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. The caramel will bubble again but will soon settle into a smooth consistency.
  4. Remove from heat, add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, and set aside to cool.

Step 2: Prepare the banana layer
