Fluffy Homemade Crêpes Recipe

Crêpes are a beloved French classic—thin, soft, and slightly crispy on the edges, perfect for both sweet and savory fillings. Making them at home is easier than you think! With a few simple ingredients and the right technique, you can enjoy restaurant-quality crêpes in no time.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for sweet crêpes) or omit for savory crêpes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups (500ml) milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for sweet crêpes)
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Batter

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar (if using), and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and gradually add the milk and melted butter. If making sweet crêpes, add vanilla extract.
  3. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
  4. Once the batter is smooth, let it rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or in the fridge. This helps achieve a lighter texture.

2. Cook the Crêpes
